66 - BERN LUCAS

Bern Lucas is from Wanaka and got hooked on river racing after a social outing with River Racing NZ in the Otago region. Next thing he's bought the 666 Club Class race boat... re badged it 66, inserted an LS3 engine and fronted for his first race on the Waitaki.

Although he's a jet boater, a little birdie suggests he spends every waking moment studying racing videos online!

Morgan was always likely to go racing one day! His dad Keith was a racer from way back and he's bought a Victory hull from an online market place and inserted a 350 Chev to meet the requirements for Club Class.

In his first time on the water at the 2022 Waitaki River Race he won his class... but he knows there will be more things to do before his next race for sure!
