2026 National Championship / NZ Title Rules

2026 Golden Homes National Championship & NZ Title Rules

For the 2026 season, River Racing NZ will be running a National Championship Series, which includes the New Zealand Titles.


The National Championship and New Zealand Title Overall and Class winners will be determined by total accumulated time across the following races:

  • Otago Race

  • Canterbury Race

  • Southland Race

  • Across NZ Race

Similar to a marathon format, times from each race will be accumulated to produce an overall time for final Overall and Class placings.


Eligibility Requirements

Overall New Zealand Titles (NZ1, NZ2, NZ3):

  • Competitors must start and finish every leg of each race.

  • No DNS or DNF will be permitted for eligibility.

New Zealand Class Titles:

  • Competitors must start a minimum of 75% of all legs across the series to be eligible for a Championship/New Zealand Class Titles.

  • Legs not raced will incur a DNS Penalty Time


Each of the four races will be run as individual events and will have their own winners. However, the combined accumulated time from all four races will determine the National Championship and New Zealand Title winners.
